FACEBOOK FAN FRIDAYS are a great technique for making connections with other business pages not to mention they are FUN! It’s a day for B2B, businesses networking businesses. This is a Fan Page Party to spotlight you, what you do, and your business Page.
To help you get the most out of these Fan Fridays, consider these tips that will help you spotlight your business page and help other Fan pages know you mean business!
USE YOUR PERSONAL ACCOUNT TO LIKE OTHER BUSINESS PAGES.
REPEAT: Use your personal account to LIKE other business pages. LIKES are included in analytics like Edgerank statistics and will benefit you and the business page you LIKED. Don’t feel you have to LIKE every page. While you might be interested in liking some pages, you are by no mean obligated to “Like” all of the pages. You are looking for meaningful relationships and continued conversations with other businesses!
MAKE SURE YOUR PERSONAL ACCOUNT CONTAINS A LINK TO YOUR BUSINESS PAGE (UNDER YOUR PROFILE PICTURE) IN YOUR ABOUT SECTION.
Readers spend on average 3-5 seconds scanning information when browsing. If your business link is not visible, chances are the prospective Fan will not root around trying to find a place to connect with you. The added benefit of having your Facebook business link visible on your personal Wall is the Hover factor. When a reader hovers over your profile picture with their mouse, your business link is visible to them—an added networking benefit.
ADD YOUR FACEBOOK BUSINESS PAGE TO WORK AND EMPLOYMENT
Click on your About link, edit Work and Employment , enter your business page name. Do Not Use “Self-Employed” or “Working Mom” or “Entrepreneur” as your place of employment. Facebook will default to the Facebook Icon (the briefcase) appearing instead of your business Page. You don’t want that!
ON FACEBOOK FAN FRIDAY, the Facebook Page host will post the invitation to attend the party. Copy your business page URL into the comment section, use the Facebook @ tag, add a brief sentence about your business, thank the host of the party, and start networking.
AFTER YOU RECEIVE A LIKE
Thank the business for connecting with your page. Keep in mind the reason for participating in Fan Fridays is Engagement! I like to send a personal message via their business page, but you can post a thank you in their Page status box. The key is to engage with the new business right off the bat.
